Welcome to Alnwick Youth Hostel
Our friendly hostel staff look forward to welcoming you to Alnwick Youth Hostel.
Alnwick, pronounced Annick, is the historic county town of Northumberland and has been the home of the Dukes of Northumberland for over 700 years.
Located on Green Batt, Alnwick Youth Hostel is within walking distance of Alnwick Castle and Gardens, Barter Books and the Bailiffgate Museum. Our grade II listed building was formerly the town’s court, gaol and police station and is full of historical interest. Converted in 2011 and opened by HM the Queen, the hostel has 57 beds, spread over 15 rooms, all of which are ensuite. The hostel boasts plenty of social space including a bright and airy modern dining room, cosy lounge and sunny court yard for guests to use. We also have a dedicated cycle hub for safe bike storage and on the go repairs.
Alnwick is only 4 miles from some fantastic beaches and stunning coastline, so why not make the most of your visit and take a trip out to explore Craster, Seahouses or Bamburgh Castle. The bus passes the door of the hostel so why not take a ride and leave the car behind.
Our reception is open from 08:00 – 10:00 and 16:00 – 19:00 daily (19:30 April to October), and staff can help with information about attractions, days out, walks and transport links.
